「堪忍袋の緒」。Strawは「藁」。語源的に言うと、ラクダの背中にめちゃくちゃ荷物を積んで、最後の藁一本で耐えきれず崩れ落ちたという話から来たそう。

「晴天の霹靂」。突拍子もない所から現れる感じ。

Cup of teaとは「好み」「趣向」と言う意味。好きな紅茶は・・と言ういかにも英国らしい言い回し。
「あの映画面白かった?」と聞かれ、
「全然面白くなかったとは中々言えず」
It wasn't my cup of tea.
(んー私の趣味ではなかった)
と、お茶を濁したような言い方ができます。
